ShipGear Fields

Some of the shipment information is not stored anywhere in the carrier system but you still may want that information for accurate Dashboard tracking or for use in eNotify email templates. ShipGear fields are either mapped to the ERP source document, or added and defined by you.

Source Document

These fields are additional fields from the ERP source document whose values can be used in email notifications and viewed or exported in the Dashboard. The Source Document shipment fields that are available for mapping are the :

These fields should be mapped to their corresponding ERP source document field. Some of these fields may be mapped by default. To map an input field, select it in the center panel and then select the Source and the Field from which ShipGear should get the value.

In the eNotify Template Designer, you will see the mapped Source field available when adding :

Dynamic fields : under Source Info; for example, Source Info.PO Number

Shipment fields : under the Source Info menu item

These fields are also visible in the Dashboard in the Shipment History View widget and in the Shipment Detail.

User Defined

You can also create fields to store values that you want to use in eNotify templates. For example, you could create a field called Customer Email and map it to a field in the source document that stores the customer's email address. The new User Defined field will be available when building email notifications in the eNotify Template Designer. If you want to be able to populate email address fields with multiple email addresses (separated by a semicolor or comma) in an eNotify template, you need to use a user defined field such as we create here.

To create a user defined field :

  1. Click the "Click here to set up User Defined fields" link at the bottom of the window.
  2. In the Enter Field Values dialog, type in a name for the user defined field in the space provided.
  3. Click Add.
  4. When you are done adding fields, click OK.
  5. The fields appear in the center panel.
  6. Map each field by selecting it, then choosing the Source and the Field from which ShipGear should get the value.

To modify an existing user defined field :

  1. Click the "Click here to set up User Defined fields" link at the bottom of the window.
  2. In the Enter Field Values dialog, click on the field name you want to modify.
  3. Make changes in the text field.
  4. Click Update.

In the eNotify Template Designer, you will see the mapped User Defined fields when adding :

Dynamic fields : under User Defined Fields; for example, User Defined Fields.Customer Email1

Shipment fields : under the User Defined Fields menu item
