Handling Charges are applied on a per package basis. There are three fields you can map for handling fees. These are located under Shipment Details > Billing Details in ShipGear's Customize Interface window. These are Handling Charge Type, Handling Charge Amount, and Variable Handling Charge Type.
In order to map the fields that deal with handling fees, you must first enable handling fees in FedEx Ship Manager. To do this:
In FedEx Ship Manager, select Customize > Shipping Profiles.
Select Default Domestic Shipping Profile.
Click View/Edit.
On the FedEx Express Prefs tab, check the "Include additional handling charge" checkbox. You do not need to define an amount.
Repeat step 4 for the FedEx Ground Prefs tab.
Example: Set the Variable Handling Charge Type
Variable handling charges allow you to calculate handling charges as a percentage of shipping charges only or shipping charges plus surcharges. In ShipGear, you can also elect to charge your customer FedEx List rates or your custom FedEx rates.
Select Input Fields > Shipment Details > Billing Details.
Click on the Variable Handling Charge Type field.
Set the Source to Fixed Value.
Select the handling charge type from the "Always set to:" field.
Click Apply.
