Example 1: Add a handling fee of $5.00 per order

In this example, we set up a rule where freight is the standard cost plus a flat handling fee of $5.00 per order.

1. Create a new rule.
   
   

• If you’re starting from the Freight Rules window, click the New Rule button.

• If this is the first rule you are creating, follow the Create a New Freight Rule procedure.
  
  

2. Select "Freight amount is increased or decreased" and click Next.

    

   

    

   3. Select "Increase" and "Dollar Amount". Enter 5.00 and click Next.

    

   

    

   4. Select "per order" and click Next.

    

   

    

   5. At the "When do you want to apply this rule" dialog, select "Always". Then, click Finish.

    

   

    

   6. Next, you must verify the rule you just created. It displays in the Result: field. In this example, there are no conditions set so the Conditions: section is blank. Click OK.

    

   

    

   7. The rule appears in the Freight Rules window.
